Recap | Portrait Studio Lighting Workshop

Last Thursday I ventured to Milford Photo (one of the best photography stores around!) to take part in a Portrait Studio Lighting Workshop. Photographers had the opportunity to learn about different lighting equipment, how to set up and take the best frames. My favorite by far was the ring light with a black background. I found frames taken during that segment were the most impactful and the ring reflection in the model’s eye was just stunning!

I found this workshop to be very educational as studio lighting can be intimidating. Just setting up all the stands and where to position reflectors… or knowing what you need can be daunting. But this was a great experience to just get in there with eyes wide open and really just take it all in in a fun manner!

Here are a few photos of different setups and instruction.
